The Orange County Economic Development Corporation has begun working on our 3rd volume of “Explore Orange County Texas – Experience the possibilities” Magazine.    The publishing of this quality of life piece that serves as both a visitor’s guide and a general marketing brochure has been a very effective tool in our marketing of Orange County.  We were successful last year in our efforts to create a partnership with local business and industries to help increase our funding and, secondly, to develop suitable marketing materials to assist in our efforts.  This achieves one of our goals highlighted in our strategic plan and I want to sincerely thank all of you who helped us be so successful in our last venture of publishing this magazine.

This magazine is being used not only to introduce and welcome visitors to our community but, hopefully, is also encouraging new workers to want to “live, work and play” in Orange County and creating new revenue streams for Orange County retailers.  Our plan is to continue placing this annual publication in the area visitor centers, hotels and utilizing them as part of our overall marketing material that we send to prospective companies and workers.  For the last two years we have printed 15,000 copies of the magazine.  This year we plan to utilize a distribution service that will help us spread the magazine over a much wider area.  This will require us to double the number of magazines printed.

Small Business Forgivable Loan Program - DEADLINE IS FRIDAY

Application Deadline January 8, 2010

The Hurricane Ike Disaster Recovery Funds application is now available for Small Businesses located in Orange, Hardin or Jefferson County.  The applications and criteria for this program may be downloaded from www.orangecountyedc.com (see below) or www.setedf.org. 

Please include a cover letter telling your story and remember to include all of the additional required information from the criteria sheet.  Incomplete applications may not be considered.
